چکیده

Due to concerns regarding fossil greenhouse gas emissions, biogenic material such as forest residues is viewed nowadays a valuable source of carbon atoms produce syngas that can be used synthesise biofuels methanol. A great challenge in using gasified biomass for methanol production the large excess syngas, compared H2 content. The water–gas shift (WGS) reaction often add and balance syngas. CO2 also produced by this reaction. Some has removed from gaseous mixture, thus decreasing process yield maintaining emissions. WGS decreases overall heat output. This paper demonstrates usefulness an extra renewable steam electrolysis instead relying on reaction, much higher performance gasification wood simple system with fixed-bed gasifier. commercial simulation software employed predict approach will more efficient (overall energy efficiency about 67%) productive (carbon conversion 75%) than outlook includes use solid oxide electrolyser technology appears very promising because dual function providing all supplemental required balancing O2 suitable hot raw conducive biomethanol dispersed, small plants local end-users same geographical area, contributing regional sustainability.

Dry Reforming of Coke Oven Gases Over Activated Carbon to Produce Syngas for Methanol Synthesis

The dry reforming of coke oven gases (COG) over an activated carbon used as catalyst has been studied in order to produce a syngas suitable for methanol synthesis. The primary aim of this work was to study the influence of the high amount of hydrogen present in the COG on the process of dry reforming, as well as the influence of other operation conditions, such us temperature and volumetric hou...

Storing syngas lowers the carbon price for profitable coal gasification.

Integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) electric power generation systems with carbon capture and sequestration have desirable environmental qualities but are not profitable when the carbon dioxide price is less than approximately $50 per metric ton. We examine whether an IGCC facility that operates its gasifier continuously butstores the syngas and produces electricity only when daily pr...

CO2 Reforming of Coke Oven Gas Over a Ni/γAl2O3 Catalyst to Produce Syngas for Methanol Synthesis

The CO2 reforming of coke oven gases (COG) was carried out over a Ni/γAl2O3 catalyst in order to obtain a suitable syngas for methanol synthesis. The influence of different operating conditions, such as temperature and volumetric hourly space velocity (VHSV), was studied. It was found that the H2 present in the feed gas promotes the Reverse Water Gas Shift reaction (RWGS), which produces water....
